Can You Turn Your Mistakes Into Successes? Episode 75

February 8, 2015

A few months ago I was approached by a Matthew Turner, asking if I would like to participate in his book project.  After a few messages back and forth I agreed and was interviewed by him as part of a podcast series he created.

I was fascinated by the idea of his book, aptly titled “Successful Mistake.”  In it, he will share the lessons learned by over 160 professionals when they committed a big mistake.  The book is now being crowdfunded and I can say I am really looking forward to it.

Since Matthew is a podcaster, a storyteller, and an author using crowdfunding to publish his book, I thought we had too much in common not to have him on the show. I was glad that I invited him on, I really enjoyed our conversation. I find the parallels between figuring out how people learned turned big mistakes into successes and project management fascinating.  I hope you enjoy it!

The Successful Mistake

successfulmistakeMuch like myself and Project Management for You, Matthew is using a crowdfunding campaign to help him write and publish his book, The Successful Mistake.

He is taking the crowdfunding principle even further, but pulling his backers into his writing process as well.

Matthew is a great storyteller and has done a fantastic job preparing and researching to get to this point.  I am proud to be one of the backers and I invite you to do the same!

Project Management Must Read Articles

Goodness. There are SO many articles written on project management every day.  I don’t know about you, but I have tried to keep up and I find it an impossible task.  There’s just too much, and a lot of it is of excellent quality.

You might remember my friend Dave Gordon from an interview I did with him during my Project Management for You podcast series.  Dave is a great project manager and writer, and he is also a great curator of content.  Dave has a great eye for good content related to project management and has been sharing them for a little while now on his website over at The Practicing ITPM. Many of you already read his blog where he writes his own articles and also shares the “best of the web” every week.

I approached Dave about becoming a type of “correspondent” for PM for the Masses, and he generously agreed.  This week I present you the first of a series of “Project Management Must Read Articles” segment that Dave is going to be sharing with us.

If you don’t have enough time to browse the web every week looking for good PM content, I hope this will give you a great selection of articles to keep you busy and informed.

Thank you Dave for all your work and insights!
