Episode 100: Self-Leadership

PM4TM Self-Leadership
Has this ever happened to you?
What is it that comes between knowing something and doing something?
Think about what happens when we try to lead others:
So, what do we do?
We give them MORE knowledge – send them to a class or get them MORE skills and training. Sometimes, we threaten them or belittle them. Other times we offer incentives to try to motivate them.

Something is missing.

In this episode of PM for the Masses Cesar and Traci discuss What’s the missing link?
Socrates once said “Let him who would move the world first move himself.”
The missing link between knowledge and performance is cognition. Quite simply, it’s thinking.

What we need before leadership skills is cognitive self-leadership skills.
That’s the missing link!

So what is cognitive self-leadership? It is “the deliberate engagement of your best thinking at every decision point.”
