009 Project Manager: Blog Like a Boss with Leslie Samuel

September 9, 2013
Even my daughter blogs.

Even my daughter blogs.

It’s another week and it’s a new episode of the PM for the Masses Podcast. This is THE podcast about project management and project managers. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee if you can, and prepare to be entertained, educated, and inspired!

Today is one of those inspiring episodes. This is episode 9 of the show, which means that I’ve already produced and published 8 episodes with 8 amazing guests, who are doing amazing things in the world of project management, self help, and personal productivity. And as you know, one of the things I want to do with the PM for the Masses podcast is to try and understand success in our industry and encourage and inspire you to do something different to stand out.

When I look back at my past 8 guests, I see something similar. When I look at Peter Taylor, Traci Duez, David Allen, Margaret Meloni, Cornelius Fichtner, Carl Pritchard, Pawel Brodzinski, and Rohit Bhargava, I see a common thread. Most of them can trace their amazing success back to a single item: their writing. I truly believe that writing, creating content is one of the most important things you can do to stand out. And the easiest way to get started is by blogging.

I’m Director of Social Media!

SWOC_PMI_logo-300x104As a neat follow up on my conversation with Leslie, I’d like to share with you that my online efforts has landed me an awesome opportunity to help out at my PMI chapter as their new director for social media. Because I decided to do something different and invested my time and effort in a passion, I was recognized by the leadership of the chapter and invited to take on this role, which I gladly accepted. So, this week I’ll have my first meeting with the chapter’s technology and marketing team and start talking about strategies. I’m vey excited and grateful for this opportunity. So thank you PMI Southwestern Ontario chapter!

Since I’m bringing you non-project managers today, my plug of the week today is my friend, my brother from another mother, my multi-talented buddy Albert Hathazi. Albert has a small cameo appearance at this episode, but you’ll have to listen to find out 🙂

Albert is a natural born entertainer, a seriously talented Elvis impersonator, video producer, podcaster, and overall technology geek.

The reason I’m plugging him this week is that he finally decided to do what dozens of people have begged him to do for a long time and started his comedy blog.

So if you would like a quick chuckle or even a true LOL once a day, go over to http://pmforthemasses.com/albert and sign up for his newsletter. Albert is a great guy and seriously funny and talented. Check him out and when you do tell you heard of him here on the PM for the Masses Podcast.
